Pine Labs Results, Q1 FY27

Pine Labs Q1 FY27 Results: Pine Labs reported a 20% year-on-year rise in revenue to ₹737 crore in Q1 FY27. PAT quadrupled to ₹20 crore due to high demand for merchant digitisation.

Pine Labs' results for the June quarter exceeded market expectations, with higher merchant adoption cited as the key reason. Revenue from operations increased 20% year-on-year to ₹737 crore, while contribution margin remained healthy at 72.3% (₹533 crore). Adjusted EBITDA stood at ₹126 crore, with a margin of 17.1%, as the company continued to invest in technology, artificial intelligence and other high-growth businesses.

Profitability improved significantly during the quarter. Profit before tax rose to ₹38 crore from a loss of ₹5 crore in Q1 FY26, while profit after tax increased fourfold to ₹20 crore from ₹5 crore a year earlier. During the quarter, the platform processed gross transaction value (GTV) of around ₹4.22 lakh crore, equivalent to nearly $45 billion.

The company continued to benefit from the rapid shift towards digital payments among merchants and consumers. Its network of Digital Checkout Points (DCPs) expanded 18% year-on-year to 21.7 lakh, with more than 70% of transactions now being processed through UPI. Pine Labs said the trend reflects increasing adoption of screen-based, UPI-first checkout solutions across enterprise and mid-market merchants.

The company's mid-market business recorded particularly strong momentum, adding more than 1.3 lakh Digital Checkout Points during the year. Gross transaction value across its Flow, Affordability and Transaction Processing businesses increased over 54% year-on-year to ₹91,000 crore. UPI GTV grew more than 80%, while Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) GTV increased over 40%, supported by higher merchant digitisation.

Pine Labs also strengthened its online payments business by adding more than 40 new online merchants across quick commerce, e-commerce, direct-to-consumer brands, travel and enterprise segments. International operations maintained healthy momentum, with revenue rising 21% year-on-year to ₹114 crore, accounting for around 16% of consolidated revenue.

The company expanded its presence across 22 countries, with notable deployments and partnerships in the Philippines, UAE, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Europe.

CEO Amrish Rau said India has built one of the world's most advanced public digital payment rails through UPI, and Pine Labs is now developing the intelligence and credit layer on top of that infrastructure. He added that technologies such as P3P and Credit Line on UPI represent foundational capabilities that move the company beyond payment processing towards becoming an infrastructure platform for merchants, brands and financial institutions.

At the close of trading on 28 July, Pine Labs' shares were trading at ₹152.94 on the National Stock Exchange, a rise of 2.69%.
