BEML Q1 FY 2026-27 Results: Net Loss Narrows to Rs 27 crore, revenue jumps 29%, Board Revises Dividend

BEML reported a sharp year-on-year improvement in its June quarter performance, even as the company slipped into a loss sequentially due to a seasonally strong March quarter.
BEML Q1 FY 2026-27 Results: State-run defence and construction vehicles company BEML Ltd reported its financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, on Friday, August 7, showing a sharp year-on-year improvement even as the company slipped into a loss on a sequential basis due to a seasonally strong March quarter.
The company reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 27 crore for the quarter, narrowing from a net loss of Rs 64 crore in the year-ago period. Sequentially, however, the company swung to a loss from a net profit of Rs 179.82 crore in the March quarter.
Revenue rose 29.3% year-on-year to Rs 820 crore from Rs 634 crore in the year-ago quarter. On a quarter-on-quarter basis, revenue declined 54.3% from Rs 1,794.17 crore. Total income increased 27.8% year-on-year to Rs 821.19 crore, but fell 54.4% sequentially from Rs 1,804.14 crore.
At the operating level, EBITDA stood at Rs 3 crore during the quarter, compared with an EBITDA loss of Rs 49 crore a year ago. EBITDA margin stood at 0.4% for the quarter.
Total expenses rose 19.9% year-on-year to Rs 854.91 crore from Rs 712.84 crore, while declining 45.2% sequentially from Rs 1,559.19 crore. Cost of materials consumed stood at Rs 428.64 crore, employee benefit expenses at Rs 202.63 crore, and finance costs at Rs 13.87 crore during the quarter.
The company's pre-tax loss narrowed to Rs 33.71 crore, compared with a pre-tax loss of Rs 70.28 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, an improvement of 52% year-on-year. Sequentially, the company swung from a pre-tax profit of Rs 244.95 crore in the March quarter.
BEML Dividend, Record Date
Separately, the board of directors, at its 422nd meeting held on August 7, 2026, recommended a revised final dividend of Rs 12.28 per equity share of face value Rs 5 each for FY26, equivalent to 246% of the company's paid-up share capital.
The company said the revised final dividend includes the dividend of Rs 0.55 per equity share that was recommended by the board on May 29, 2026, for FY26.
BEML Share Price
Shares of BEML were trading at Rs 1,729.90 on the BSE on Friday, up 0.28%. The stock has declined 5.1% over the past one month and 5.86% so far in 2026. On a one-year basis, it has fallen 10.6%, underperforming the Nifty 500, which has gained 4.39% during the same period.
The stock hit a 52-week high of Rs 2,275.75 on October 24, 2025, and a 52-week low of Rs 1,355 on March 30, 2026. BEML has a market capitalisation of Rs 14,404 crore and is part of the Nifty Smallcap 100 index.
