Adani Power Q1 Results FY27: Adani Power reported a 42% year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit to ₹4,806 crore for Q1 FY27, while revenue from operations increased 34% to ₹18,902 crore. The board also approved raising up to ₹15,000 crore through a qualified institutions placement (QIP) to support its expansion plans.
Adani Power reported its Q1 FY27 results on Wednesday, July 22, posting strong growth in revenue and profitability on the back of higher electricity sales and improved operating performance. Alongside its quarterly earnings, the company announced plans to raise up to ₹15,000 crore through a qualified institutions placement (QIP) and proposed increasing its borrowing limit to fund future capacity expansion.
The company reported a consolidated net profit of ₹4,806 crore for the April-June quarter, up 42% from ₹3,385 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
Revenue from operations rose 34% year-on-year to ₹18,902 crore, compared with ₹14,109 crore a year earlier. Total income increased 32.6% to ₹19,322.30 crore, while total expenses rose to ₹13,021.81 crore from ₹10,369.39 crore, mainly due to higher fuel costs.
Operating performance remained strong during the quarter. EBITDA grew 40% year-on-year to ₹7,948 crore, while EBITDA margin expanded to 42.05% from 40.3% in the year-ago period. Consolidated power sales increased 16.9% to 28.8 billion units, compared with 24.6 billion units in Q1 FY26, supported by higher operating capacity and sustained electricity demand.
Adani Power Board Approves ₹15,000 Crore QIP
The board approved raising up to ₹15,000 crore, or an equivalent amount, through the issuance of equity shares with a face value of ₹2 each or other eligible securities in one or more tranches via a qualified institutions placement (QIP) or other permitted routes.
Directors also approved increasing the company's borrowing limit under Section 180(1)(c) of the Companies Act, 2013, from ₹75,000 crore to ₹1 lakh crore, over and above its paid-up share capital, free reserves and securities premium. Shareholders will consider both proposals at an Extraordinary General Meeting scheduled for August 14, 2026.
Acquisition And Expansion Plans
During the quarter, Adani Power signed agreements under the insolvency resolution process of Jaiprakash Associates Ltd. The company agreed to acquire a 24% stake in Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd for ₹2,993 crore and JAL's 180 MW Churk thermal power plant for ₹1,200 crore.
The company also incorporated new subsidiaries to support its conventional and nuclear power expansion initiatives.
Adani Power Capacity Expansion Update
Adani Power said work on its plan to expand generation capacity to 45 GW is progressing as scheduled.
The 1,320 MW Korba Phase II project is expected to be commissioned during the current financial year, while the 1,600 MW Mahan Phase II project is targeted for commercial operations in the first quarter of FY28 after achieving more than 88% construction progress as of June 30, 2026.
Construction also continued at the Raipur Phase II, Raigarh Phase II and Mirzapur Greenfield thermal power projects.
Adani Power Share Price Today
Following the announcement of the June quarter results, Adani Power share price traded lower. At around 3:15 pm IST, Adani Power shares were trading at ₹219.74 on the National Stock Exchange, down 0.29% for the day.
