Market Midday, 24 June 2026: Sensex And Nifty 50 Extend Gains

Benchmark indices, the Sensex and Nifty 50, held near the day's peak in afternoon trade. Broader markets, however, remained mixed. Read more.
Benchmark equity indices traded near their intraday highs in afternoon trade. They were supported by gains in information technology (IT), private banking and pharmaceutical stocks. At 12:19 pm, the:

Broader Markets Mixed
Broader markets traded mixed. The Nifty Midcap 100 index was up 0.01%, while the Nifty Smallcap 100 index was down 0.02% at 12:20 pm. Among sectoral indices, the Nifty Cement index emerged as a decent performer. It was up 1.53% at 12:21 pm. The Nifty Pharma index also traded higher.

IRFC shares tumbled 5% in early trade after the government’s offer for sale (OFS) opened for non-retail investors.

Bajaj Auto shares fell 2% in early trade after the company announced a ransomware attack affecting its system and that of its subsidiary, Bajaj Auto Technology Ltd.

ZF Commercial Vehicle Control Systems shares gained as much as 7% in early trade after the company started trading, adjusting for the bonus issue of shares.

Vedanta Power and Vedanta Oil and Gas shares tumbled 3% in early trade, while Vedanta Aluminium Metal and Vedanta Iron and Steel stocks jumped up to 5% in intraday deals.

Diamond Power Infrastructure Ltd shares rose 2% in early trade after Gautam Adani announced a capex of over ₹2 lakh crore in the power sector.
Also, the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has fixed 25 June as the record date for the final dividend of ₹10 per share. It means today is the last day for investors to buy shares of the insurance giant in order to qualify for the dividend payout.

CSM Technologies’ initial public offering (IPO) opens for subscription today. It is a book-building fresh issue worth ₹145.78 crore.

Dhanwel Hybrid Seeds and Sri Priyanka Geo Commex IPOs also opened for subscription today. These two are also book-building IPOs worth ₹27.53 crore and ₹94.51 crore, respectively.

Afternoon Trade Outlook
