Though the benchmarks, the Sensex and Nifty 50, pared early losses, they still continued to trade in the red in the late morning trade. At 11:36 am, the Sensex and Nifty 50 were down 0.22% and 0.40%, respectively.

Broader markets were also in negative territory, with the Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Smallcap 100 down 0.66% and 0.62%, respectively, at around 11:38 am.

At around 11:39 am, the top five stocks on the Nifty 50 index were:

  • Bajaj Auto Ltd

  • Larsen & Toubro Ltd.

  • ICICI Bank Ltd.

  • Bharti Airtel Ltd.

  • Eternal Ltd.

  • Swiggy shares fell over 5% in intraday trading ahead of its Q2 FY27 earnings.

  • Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) shares rose over 3% in early trade after the company reported almost a 23% year-on-year increase in its net consolidated profit for Q2 FY27.

  • PC Jeweller shares soared 9% in early trade after it reported a 58% year-on-year increase in its net consolidated profit for Q2 FY27.

More than 50 companies are likely to declare their Q2 results today. Some of them are:

  • Adani Energy Solutions

  • Hindustan Petroleum Corporation

  • Havells India

  • Nippon Life India Asset Management

  • Swiggy

  • Adani Total Gas

  • Jindal Stainless

  • Colgate Palmolive (India)

  • Chennai Petroleum Corporation

Despite paring their early losses, the negative movement of benchmarks points to cautious sentiment in the market. Selling pressure could persist through the second half, although strong quarterly earnings may support select stocks. Investors are likely to remain watchful as companies release their results and fresh cues emerge.
