International Gemological Institute Shares Hit 10% Upper Circuit After Q2 FY27 Profit Jumped 43% And Revenue Rose 31%
IGI shares hit the 10% upper circuit after Q2 FY27 profit surged and revenue rose.

International Gemological Institute shares hit the 10% upper circuit on 22 October after Q2 FY27 profit rose 43.14% year-on-year to ₹185.8 crore and revenue increased 31% to ₹398 crore, with festive-season demand and the US holiday ordering cycle in focus.

International Gemological Institute (IGI) shares hit the 10% upper circuit at ₹353.20 apiece on Thursday, 22/10, after the company reported a 43.14% year-on-year rise in consolidated profit after tax (PAT) for Q2FY27. Revenue from operations grew 31% in the quarter ended September 2026.

The rally comes after a mixed run for the stock. The IGIL share price has gained 8% over one week and 5% over the past year, while falling 2.5% over six months.

At Thursday’s upper-circuit price, the IGI share price was around 9% below its 52-week high of ₹388, recorded in May 2026. Its 52-week low was ₹287.25 in January 2026.

IGI’s consolidated PAT increased from ₹129.8 crore in the year-ago quarter to ₹185.8 crore in Q2FY27. Revenue from operations rose from ₹303.7 crore to ₹398 crore, according to the company’s regulatory filing. IGI attributed the quarter’s performance to healthy demand and strong operational execution.

Managing Director and CEO Tehmasp Printer said the company continued to provide certification services across different segments of the gems and jewellery industry. Its work covers natural diamonds, lab-grown diamonds, jewellery and coloured gemstones.

According to the IGI CEO, lab-grown diamonds were seeing higher adoption, while natural diamonds and gemstones remained important growth opportunities for the company. IGI’s certification services provide independent assessments of the products being bought and sold across these categories.

IGI expects seasonal demand to remain an important business driver as the jewellery industry enters a key sales period. Tehmasp Printer said India’s festive season and the US holiday ordering cycle were gaining momentum, with retailers and manufacturers preparing for higher demand.

The company said it was seeing encouraging trends across its business segments as this period approached. The demand outlook, alongside growth in both revenue and profit during Q2 FY27, forms part of the latest business update following Thursday’s share price rally.

For investors tracking the stock, the next developments to watch are the company’s performance across its certification segments and how demand evolves through the festive and holiday ordering periods.
