NSE IPO May Open On 18 September; Listing Likely On 25 September
NSE IPO may open on 18 September, and the shares are likely to list on 25 September

NSE's much-awaited IPO is likely to open on 18 September and list on 25 September, according to sources. The nearly ₹30,000-crore issue could become India's largest IPO

The much-awaited initial public offering (IPO) of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) is likely to open for public subscription on 18 September, with the shares expected to list on the stock exchanges on 25 September, according to sources.

The proposed issue could be worth nearly ₹30,000 crore, potentially making it the largest IPO ever in India. However, NSE has not yet made an official announcement regarding the issue schedule.

According to the proposed timeline shared by sources, the price band for the NSE IPO is likely to be disclosed on 15 September.

The anchor investor portion of the issue could open on 17 September, a day before the public subscription begins.

The IPO is expected to remain open for bidding on 18 September, 21 September and 22 September. If the schedule goes ahead as planned, the allotment and listing process will follow, with NSE shares likely to debut on 25 September.

The public issue will reportedly consist entirely of an offer for sale (OFS) of up to 14.89 crore equity shares with a face value of ₹1 each.

The shares being offered account for nearly 6% of NSE's paid-up equity capital. Since the IPO does not include a fresh issue of shares, the exchange itself will not receive any funds from the public offering.

Instead, the money raised through the issue will go to the existing shareholders who are selling part of their holdings.

At an estimated issue size of around ₹30,000 crore, the NSE IPO could surpass Hyundai Motor India's ₹27,870-crore public issue in 2024 and take the top spot among India's biggest IPOs.

The final size, price band and schedule will become clearer once NSE formally announces the details of its public offering.
