Wipro Q2FY27 Results: Revenue Rises 9.1%, Profit Falls 1.9% As Large Deal Bookings Decline Sharply

In Wipro’s Q2FY27 results, revenue climbed, net profit fell, and IT services growth remained modest. Improved operating efficiency and strong cash generation from operations provided some counterweight.
The sharper concern was a steep sequential contraction in large deal bookings. It suggests demand remains unsettled. Wipro’s December-quarter revenue forecast offers little indication of a near-term growth pickup.
Wipro posted consolidated revenue of ₹24,753 crore for the quarter ended 30 September 2026, marking a 9.1% rise from a year earlier. Profit moved in the opposite direction. Net profit attributable to shareholders slipped 1.9% to ₹3,201 crore, exposing a gap between revenue growth and earnings.
Its IT services business brought in $2.612 billion. Yet underlying momentum remained muted. On a constant-currency basis, revenue was unchanged from the previous quarter and rose just 0.6% year-on-year.
Earnings per share, meanwhile, climbed 4.2% to ₹3.23 year-on-year. Management credited strategic investments and its consulting-led, AI-powered approach with helping secure new clients and deepen existing relationships.
Wipro Share Price Movement
Wipro shares closed at ₹174.05 on 15 October 2026, gaining 1.84% during the session. The stock moved between ₹172.71 and ₹174.69, compared with its previous close of ₹170.92.
Q2FY27 Financial Performance
Particulars | Q2FY27 | Year-on-year change |
|---|---|---|
Gross revenue | ₹24,753 crore | +9.1% |
Net profit | ₹3,201 crore | −1.9% |
IT services revenue | $2.612 billion | +0.3% |

The IT services operating margin expanded by 0.5 percentage points from the previous quarter. Operating cash flow reached 165.8% of net income, highlighting strong cash conversion.
Deal Bookings And AI-Led Contracts
Total bookings declined 22.9% sequentially in constant-currency terms to $2.595 billion. Large deal bookings fell 58.6% to $674 million, signalling a weaker quarter for sizeable contract wins.
Despite this contraction, Wipro secured engagements across banking, healthcare, biotechnology, telecommunications and life sciences. Projects include AI-enabled mortgage operations, automated compliance processes, enterprise application modernisation and supply chain intelligence.
Chief executive Srini Pallia said the company's investments were helping it pursue larger transformation opportunities, with AI expected to expand demand for technology and business services.
December Quarter Outlook
Wipro expects IT services revenue of $2.571 billion to $2.625 billion for the quarter ending 31 December 2026. The forecast implies sequential constant-currency growth ranging from a 1.5% decline to an increase of 0.5%.
The outlook reflects the challenge of translating strategic wins into sustained revenue growth. Contract momentum, demand for AI-enabled services and the company's ability to maintain margins will remain important factors in its performance over the coming quarter.
