Indian markets closed sharply lower on June 8. Key stocks in focus include HCLTech, Adani Enterprises, JSW Energy, RVNL, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea, NLC India, Grasim and Panacea Biotec.

Dalal Street started the week on a weak note, with selling pressure dragging benchmark indices lower on 8 June. The Sensex ended 719 points down at 73,524, while the Nifty 50 lost 244 points to close at 23,123. Weakness was visible beyond the frontline indices as broader markets also remained under pressure during the session.

Against this backdrop, several companies announced key developments that could remain in focus today.

HCLTech

The company has launched an AI Innovation Zone in partnership with Google Cloud. The facility is located in Santa Clara, California. It aims to help enterprises scale AI applications across agentic, kinetic and physical AI.

Adani Enterprises

Adani Airport City Ltd, a step-down subsidiary of Adani Enterprises, has signed a Share Purchase Agreement (SPA). The agreement is with Portus Ventures Pvt Ltd and its existing shareholders. Through the deal, Adani Airport City is set to acquire a 100% stake in Portus Ventures.

JSW Energy

JSW Energy has commissioned a wind blade manufacturing plant in Halol, Gujarat. The facility will strengthen the company's wind energy supply chain and expand its in-house manufacturing capabilities.

RVNL

RVNL secured a new order from South East Central Railway. It received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) for an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) project in Chhattisgarh. The contract is worth around ₹221.33 crore.

Bharti Airtel & Vodafone Idea

Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea received relief from the Bombay High Court. The court quashed the Centre’s 2012 decision to impose a One-Time Spectrum Charge (OTSC). The levy applied to telecom operators holding spectrum beyond 6.2 MHz.

NLC India

The Government of India has announced an Offer for Sale (OFS) in NLC India. The base offer consists of a 2% equity stake. An additional 1% stake may be sold through a green shoe option if demand remains strong.

Grasim Industries

Grasim Industries has approved a fresh investment of ₹3,094 crore. The funds will be used for Phase II of its Lyocell manufacturing expansion at Harihar, Karnataka. The project will add 110,000 tonnes per annum (TPA) of capacity through two production lines.

Shanti Gold International

Shanti Gold International has completed its capacity expansion project. The expansion increases manufacturing capacity by around 4,000 kg per year.

Panacea Biotec

Panacea Biotec has launched the DENSTAR project. The initiative aims to support the licensing of its dengue vaccine, DengiAll®, in sub-Saharan Africa. It is also intended to drive broader global adoption of the vaccine.
