Stock Market This Week: Q1 Results, US Fed Meeting, IIP Data Among 5 Key Triggers For Sensex, Nifty

The Indian stock market enters a crucial week with more than 400 companies set to announce Q1 FY27 results alongside the US Federal Reserve's policy decision, June IIP data and key corporate actions. Investors will also track crude oil prices, FII activity and developments in West Asia for cues on the direction of the Sensex and Nifty 50.
Stock Market This Week: Dalal Street begins the new trading week with a packed calendar of earnings, macroeconomic data and global events after benchmark indices ended lower for another week.
The Sensex fell nearly 1,500 points over the past five trading sessions to settle at 76,059.77, while the Nifty 50 closed at 23,767.45. Higher crude oil prices, continued selling by foreign institutional investors (FIIs) and uncertainty surrounding developments in West Asia weighed on sentiment, although domestic institutional investors (DIIs) continued to provide support.
The coming week brings one of the busiest phases of the June-quarter earnings season, the US Federal Reserve's policy decision, June industrial production data and a series of corporate actions, all of which could influence trading.
5 Key Triggers That Could Shape The Stock Market This Week
Q1 FY27 Results
Corporate earnings will dominate the week's trading.
As many as 415 companies are scheduled to announce their April-June quarter results between July 27 and August 1, with July 29 emerging as the busiest day after 106 companies line up to report earnings.
The list includes several benchmark heavyweights such as Coal India, Bharat Electronics, Tata Power, Canara Bank, Larsen & Toubro, Hindustan Unilever, Ambuja Cements, Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports & SEZ, Asian Paints, Bajaj Finance, Tata Steel, Vedanta, ITC, Maruti Suzuki India, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, Dixon Technologies and Muthoot Finance.
Quarterly numbers, margin trends, management commentary and FY27 guidance are likely to drive stock-specific action.
US Fed Policy Decision
Global markets will look to the outcome of the US Federal Reserve's policy meeting scheduled this week.
While the central bank is widely expected to leave interest rates unchanged, markets will watch Chair Kevin Warsh's commentary for signals on inflation and the future rate path. Any change in the Fed's policy stance could influence US bond yields, the dollar and foreign portfolio flows into emerging markets.
June IIP Data
Back home, attention will shift to the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) for June, due on July 28.
Industrial output had expanded 5.1% year-on-year in May, helped by 5.5% growth in manufacturing and 9.9% growth in electricity and gas supply. The latest reading will offer a fresh indication of economic activity during the first quarter.
Crude Oil Prices
Brent crude and WTI prices will stay on traders' radar after sharp swings last week following developments in West Asia.
Brent briefly crossed $100 a barrel before easing, while WTI also retreated from recent highs. Oil prices remain sensitive to developments around the US-Iran conflict and shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, with any fresh disruption likely to have implications for inflation and India's import bill.
FII Flows, Dividend Stocks And Corporate Actions
Foreign institutional investor activity remains another key monitorable after overseas investors continued to reduce their exposure to Indian equities.
The week will also see a packed corporate action calendar. Several companies, including Wipro, Crisil, DLF, Persistent Systems, Tata Capital, Godrej Properties, Solar Industries, SRF, Siemens, Marico, UltraTech Cement, Britannia Industries, Eicher Motors, Power Finance Corporation, REC and Bata India, are scheduled to trade ex-dividend. Investors will also track bonus issues, REIT and InvIT distributions and a handful of other record-date-driven corporate actions.
