Indian equities ended higher as sentiment improved. Investors tracked a ratings upgrade for Airtel and corporate developments at IRFC, Reliance, Bharat Forge and Tata Steel.
Indian benchmark indices ended higher on Wednesday, with the Sensex gaining nearly 800 points and the Nifty closing above the 24,000 mark. Market sentiment improved on the back of falling crude oil prices, easing concerns over interest rate hikes and renewed foreign investor buying.
Stocks In Focus
Bharti Airtel
S&P Global Ratings has upgraded Bharti Airtel’s long-term credit rating to BBB+ from BBB. The rating agency cited the telecom operator’s growth prospects in India and Africa.
Reliance Industries
Karkinos Healthcare, an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance Industries, has completed HPV DNA screening for more than one lakh women across India. The milestone supports its efforts to expand cervical cancer prevention and early detection services.
Indian Railway Finance Corporation
The Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM) said the government will exercise the greenshoe option in the ongoing Offer for Sale (OFS) of IRFC.
Vedanta
Vedanta has incorporated a new wholly owned subsidiary, Vedanta Property Platforms Ltd (VPPL), in Mumbai. The entity will focus on real estate development and related business activities.
Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC)
LIC informed exchanges that its Chief Financial Officer and Key Managerial Personnel, Sunil Agrawal, has stepped down from his role to pursue other career opportunities.
NLC India
NLC India Renewables Ltd (NIRL), a subsidiary of NLC India, has signed a joint venture agreement with OREDA Ltd to develop renewable and green energy projects in Odisha.
Bharat Forge
Bharat Forge said its wholly owned subsidiary, BF Industrial Solutions Ltd (BFISL), has acquired 36 lakh equity shares of RS Aerostructures Ltd. The acquisition gives BFISL a 90% stake in the company. Following the deal, RS Aerostructures has become a step-down subsidiary of Bharat Forge.
Jubilant Pharmova
The company said that its wholly owned step-down subsidiary, Jubilant Generics Ltd (JGL), has received an order from the Income Tax Department. The order relates to the Assessment Year 2023–24.
Tata Steel
Tata Steel has invested approximately $172 million (₹1,625.29 crore) in T Steel Holdings Pte. Ltd, its Singapore-based wholly owned subsidiary. The investment forms part of a larger capital allocation programme approved earlier.
Embassy Developments
The real estate company has signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Uttar Pradesh government to explore a commercial real estate project in Lucknow, with a proposed investment of around ₹1,500 crore.
