Jio Financial Bets On BofA, BlackRock, Allianz To Scale Lending, Investments
Jio Financial Services steps up its finance push with BofA, BlackRock and Allianz partnership.

Jio Financial Services is scaling its financial businesses through partnerships with Bank of America, BlackRock and Allianz. Jio Credit's AUM crossed ₹30,000 crore, JioBlackRock's AUM reached ₹21,000 crore, and JioFinance crossed 25 million users.

Jio Financial Services is forming partnerships with global financial institutions to expand its lending, investment and insurance businesses as it moves into the next stage of its financial-services strategy.

At its FY26 Annual General Meeting, CEO Hitesh Sethia said the company would combine its technology, distribution network and customer reach with the expertise of Bank of America, BlackRock and Allianz. The approach covers lending, asset management, payments and insurance.

Bank of America (BofA) is set to acquire up to 49.9% of Jio Credit, Jio Financial's lending business. The partnership is expected to bring capital as well as banking, risk management, governance and technology capabilities to Jio Credit.

Jio’s lending business has expanded sharply. Gross asset under management (AUM) crossed ₹30,000 crore in Q1 FY27, up 163% year-on-year, while quarterly disbursements rose 173% to ₹11,252 crore. The company has said its lending expansion will remain within its risk and underwriting parameters.

The partnership gives Jio Credit access to Bank of America's banking and risk-management expertise, while Jio contributes its customer reach and distribution network.

The BlackRock partnership is centred on asset management and other investment businesses. JioBlackRock's AUM crossed ₹21,000 crore by July 2026.

The business has also expanded its reach beyond India's larger financial centres. Around 36% of retail AUM came from beyond the top 30 cities, while 18.5% of investors were new to mutual funds.

BlackRock brings investment-management capabilities, technology and processes to the partnership, while Jio Financial uses its distribution network to offer investment products to a wider customer base.

Insurance is the third major area where Jio Financial is working with a global partner. The company’s reinsurance joint venture with Allianz began operations in early 2026, while Jio Financial and Allianz have also set up Jio Allianz General Insurance as a 50:50 joint venture for general and health insurance.

Alongside these businesses, Jio Financial is developing JioFinance as a digital financial marketplace. The platform had more than 25 million unique users and about 9 million average monthly active users in Q1 FY27.

Jio Financial Services plans to use AI and machine learning to personalise product recommendations and bring its own and third-party financial products onto the platform. The company's longer-term strategy is guided by four forms of capital: financial capital, technology and data capital, human capital, and trust capital.
