Hindalco Q1 FY 2026-27 Results: Net Profit Surges 75% To Record Rs 7,013 Crore, Revenue Up 32%

Hindalco Q1 FY 2026-27 Results: Metals major Hindalco Industries Ltd reported its financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, on Friday, August 7, during afternoon market hours, recording a 75% year-on-year increase in overall profits despite cost headwinds during the period
Hindalco's consolidated net profit surged 75% to a record Rs 7,013 crore for the quarter, compared with Rs 4,004 crore in the same period a year earlier, driven by strong performance across its businesses.
Revenue from core operations advanced 32% year-on-year to Rs 84,825 crore, compared with Rs 64,232 crore in the same period of the previous financial year, according to the company's filing.
Segment Performance
The company said its India business maintained strong momentum during the quarter, while Novelis' profitability improved as production restarted at its Oswego plant and benefits from its cost-optimisation programme continued.
The aluminium upstream business posted record quarterly EBITDA of Rs 7,390 crore, an increase of 81% year-on-year. Copper EBITDA rose 36% to a record Rs 918 crore. Novelis reported its highest-ever quarterly adjusted EBITDA at Rs 4,875 crore, up 37% from a year earlier, with production at the Oswego plant now ramping up and the commissioning process at Bay Minette underway.
Hindalco said Aluminium Upstream, Aluminium Downstream, Copper and Novelis all delivered their highest-ever quarterly EBITDA during the period. The company attributed its overall performance to favourable macroeconomic tailwinds, resource security, premium product innovation and operational performance.
Hindalco's consolidated net debt-to-EBITDA ratio stood at 1.95 times as of June 30, 2026, compared with 1.02 times a year earlier.
Management Commentary
Managing Director Satish Pai said the India business delivered another record quarterly performance, while Novelis reported improved profitability supported by the restart of Oswego and continued benefits from cost-optimisation measures.
Pai added that Hindalco's pipeline of strategic investments remained robust across upstream and downstream operations. The company is expanding upstream capacities in alumina, aluminium and copper while also scaling up its downstream projects.
Hindalco Share Price
Hindalco shares extended their early gains following the Q1 results and were trading 1.85% higher at Rs 1,046 in afternoon trade on Friday, August 7.
