Hikal Signs Multi-Year Global Contract With European Agrochemical Company

Hikal's Crop Protection division has signed a multi-year contract with a Europe-based global agrochemical company to manufacture and supply a specialised product to international markets. Commercial launch is expected towards the end of FY27, with volumes likely to increase progressively as regulatory approvals are secured.
Hikal Ltd has signed a multi-year contract with a Europe-based global agrochemical company to manufacture and supply a specialised agrochemical product to markets worldwide. The company announced the agreement on November 2, 2026, following nearly three years of process development and scale-up work by its Crop Protection division.
The contract covers contract development and manufacturing (CDMO) of the product. Commercial launch is expected towards the end of FY27, with supply volumes anticipated to increase progressively as regulatory approvals are secured across global markets.
Hikal did not disclose the financial value of the agreement or the identity of its international customer.
Hikal's new contract follows three years of development
According to the company, the agreement marks the commercialisation of a product developed and scaled up through a collaborative process with the European agrochemical company.
The partnership will involve manufacturing and supplying the specialised product for global markets. Hikal expects volumes to grow progressively as regulatory approvals are obtained in different markets.
The agreement adds to the company's Crop Protection portfolio and strengthens its contract development and manufacturing business with international customers.
Commenting on the development, Sameer Hiremath, Chairman and Managing Director of Hikal, said the contract converts nearly three years of collaborative development and scale-up into a long-term commercial partnership.
He said the agreement demonstrates the company's technical capabilities and manufacturing infrastructure in taking complex products from development to commercial supply.
What the agreement means for Hikal's Crop Protection business
The contract provides Hikal with a long-term manufacturing opportunity in the global agrochemical market. Its eventual contribution to revenue will depend on the commercial launch, regulatory approvals and the pace at which customer demand and supply volumes increase.
The company has not disclosed the expected annual revenue, minimum purchase commitments or total contract value. Therefore, the financial impact cannot yet be quantified.
The agreement also highlights the role of CDMO partnerships in the agrochemical industry, where companies outsource product development and manufacturing to specialised suppliers with process chemistry and production capabilities.
Hikal's global manufacturing and research capabilities
Hikal operates across pharmaceuticals, crop protection, animal health and specialty chemicals. Its manufacturing facilities are located in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Bengaluru, supported by a research and technology centre in Pune.
The company works with international customers across the life-sciences value chain, providing development, process chemistry and manufacturing services.
The latest agreement adds another global customer programme to its Crop Protection business. Investors will now watch for updates on regulatory approvals, the commercial launch expected towards the end of FY27 and the subsequent ramp-up in supply volumes.
