Bharat Forge Q1 FY27 Results: Shares Fall Nearly 7% After ₹358 Crore Exceptional Loss

Bharat Forge reported its June quarter results on 10 August. Revenue increased 18.7% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹4,640 crore, but the company reported a net loss of ₹90 crore against a net profit of ₹284 crore in Q1 FY26. The quarter included a ₹358 crore exceptional loss.
How Did Bharat Forge Perform In Q1 FY27?
Bharat Forge’s consolidated financial performance showed higher revenue but weaker margins during the quarter:

On a standalone basis, net profit fell 5% YoY to ₹321.3 crore from ₹338.5 crore. Revenue increased 11.5% to ₹2,347.4 crore, while standalone EBITDA rose 2.4% to ₹585.6 crore. The EBITDA margin narrowed to 24.9% from 27.1% in Q1 FY26.
What Is Bharat Forge’s Outlook For FY27?
Bharat Forge has maintained its India business growth outlook of 20-25% for FY27, with growth expected to be more pronounced during the fiscal year.
The company is also setting up dedicated forging and machining capabilities, with an investment outlay of around ₹1,800 crore over the next 12-18 months. These facilities are expected to generate incremental revenue after commissioning.
The board has separately approved a plan to raise up to ₹2,500 crore through equity and debt instruments.
Defence Orders Remain A Key Part Of The Order Book
Bharat Forge’s India operations won new orders worth ₹1,352 crore during Q1 FY27. Of this, ₹681 crore came from the defence business. Following these orders, the outstanding defence order book stood at ₹11,196 crore.
How Did Bharat Forge Share Price React?
Bharat Forge shares ended Monday’s session lower after the company reported its June quarter results. The numbers came in below expectations at both the standalone and consolidated levels.
The shares had declined as much as 7.7% during the trading session following the results. The stock closed at ₹2,112 on Monday, down 6.76% from the previous close.
Despite Monday’s decline, Bharat Forge shares remain up more than 45% so far this year.
