Berger Paints Q1 FY 2026-27 Results: PAT Rises 29% To ₹405 Crore

Berger Paints Q1 Results 2026-27: Driven by strong demand for decorative paints, consolidated PAT rose 28.6% to ₹405 crore, and revenue grew 12% to ₹3,583.8 crore.
Berger Paints Q1 FY27 results were supported by healthy demand in the decorative paints business. On a consolidated basis, revenue from operations increased 12% year-on-year to ₹3,583.8 crore, while profit before tax (PBT) rose 18.1% to ₹542.6 crore. Profit after tax (PAT) grew 28.6% to ₹405 crore, compared with ₹315 crore in the year-ago quarter.
On a standalone basis, revenue from operations stood at ₹3,226.7 crore, up 12.7% year-on-year. Standalone PBT rose 26.4% to ₹500.3 crore, while PAT increased 25.5% to ₹368.7 crore. The company also reported 8.4% volume growth, with decorative paints outperforming the overall business.
Berger Paints Q1 FY 2026-27 Results: Performance Summary
Operating profitability improved during the quarter. Consolidated Profit Before Depreciation, Interest and Tax (PBDIT) rose 15% year-on-year to ₹607.4 crore, while the PBDIT margin edged up to 16.9% from 16.5% a year ago. Profit Before Interest and Tax (PBIT) increased 17.4% to ₹543.3 crore. The company also reported a higher share of profit from its joint ventures during the quarter.
Raw material costs remained higher during the quarter, with material consumption rising to ₹2,118.6 crore. Employee expenses stood at ₹245.1 crore, while finance costs fell to ₹12.5 crore from ₹14.5 crore a year earlier. Berger's consolidated cash surplus also increased to ₹1,424 crore at the end of June, compared with ₹1,198 crore three months earlier.
The decorative paints business remained the biggest growth driver during the quarter, delivering nearly 13.5% value growth and close to 20% growth in operating profit. Wood Coatings also reported strong double-digit volume growth, while Automotive Coatings posted healthy double-digit value growth. Protective, General Industrial (GI) and Powder Coatings grew at a slower pace due to delayed price increases.
Berger continued to expand its retail network during the quarter, taking its store count to more than 1,900, including around 900 urban stores. Tinting machine installations crossed 2,100. Among subsidiaries, BJN Nepal reported double-digit value growth, while Berger Nippon Paint Automotive Coatings (BNPA) and the Berger Becker joint ventures recorded healthy growth in revenue and profitability.
Management Commentary And Stock Price
The company said it expects double-digit revenue growth to continue through FY27, supported by the full-quarter impact of recent price increases, festive demand and further distribution expansion. Berger expects operating margins to remain within its guided range while continuing investments in brands, innovation and retail activation, although it will continue to monitor crude oil prices, currency movements and geopolitical developments.
By the close of the day on 5 August 2026, Berger Paints’s share price had already climbed almost 3% to reach ₹545.2 on the National Stock Exchange.
