Broader markets also ended in the positive. The Nifty Midcap 100 index ended 0.18% higher. The Nifty Smallcap 100 index ended 0.76% higher. Crude oil prices fell in early trade as investors tracked developments between the US and Iran and efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. At 15:38, Brent oil futures for October 2026 stood at $80.63 per barrel. During the same time, crude oil West Texas Intermediate (WTI) futures for September 2026 stood at $76.47 per barrel.
