Alembic Pharmaceuticals Q1 FY27 Results: Revenue Jumps 26% To ₹2,150 Crore
Alembic Pharmaceuticals posted Q1 FY27 revenue of ₹2,150 crore, up 26% year-on-year.

Alembic Q1 FY27 Results: Alembic Pharmaceuticals reported Q1 FY27 revenue of ₹2,150 crore and PAT of ₹173 crore due to strong growth in its US formulations, API and international businesses.

Alembic Pharmaceuticals reported a strong start to FY27, with growth across all its business segments. Revenue from operations rose 26% year-on-year to ₹2,150 crore, while profit after tax (PAT) increased 12% to ₹173 crore. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) after research and development (R&D) expenses grew 21% to ₹353 crore, while EBITDA before research and development (R&D) stood at ₹523 crore with a margin of around 24%.

The company spent 9% of its revenue on R&D during the quarter as it continued investing in peptide development, product filings and its US branded business. Profit before tax rose 17% year-on-year to ₹222 crore.

The US formulations business remained the biggest growth driver, with revenue rising 49% year-on-year (₹778 crore) on the back of key product launches and higher volumes. The Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) business also posted 33% growth, supported by a healthy order book, while the ex-US formulations business grew 17% (₹383 crore). In India, the branded formulations business recorded 7% growth during the quarter.

Expenses increased during the quarter as the company continued to invest in manufacturing and product development. Material costs, employee expenses and depreciation were higher than a year ago, while R&D spending also increased as Alembic expanded its speciality pipeline. Despite these investments, profitability improved on the back of higher sales and operating leverage.

Alembic launched seven products in the US during the quarter, taking its total commercialised portfolio to 185 products. It also filed four Abbreviated New Drug Applications (ANDAs) and received ten approvals, including two tentative approvals, while management expects more than 15 product launches during FY27.

The company said the soft launch of its US branded product Pivya received an encouraging response, while the addition of Nuvessa is expected to expand its branded portfolio.

The company’s investor presentation said higher profitability was supported by operating leverage even as the company continued planned investments in its US branded business and R&D pipeline, with a particular focus on peptide development and increasing product filings.

At the close of the trading day on 04 August 2026, Alembic Pharmaceuticals’ share price was ₹811.0 on the National Stock Exchange, a marginal gain of 0.65%.
