Adani Power Shares Rise After NCLT
Adani Power shares rise after NCLT approves merger of 10 wholly owned subsidiaries.

Adani Power shares rose after the NCLT approved the merger of Vidarbha Industries Power with Adani Power, following earlier approvals for nine other wholly owned subsidiaries.

Adani Power received the required National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) approvals for its proposed merger with 10 wholly owned subsidiaries.

The latest approval came from the NCLT's Mumbai Bench. It sanctioned the merger of Vidarbha Industries Power Ltd (VIPL) with Adani Power through an order dated 24 September 2026. The order was uploaded on the NCLT website on 25 September.

At the closing bell on 25 September, Adani Power shares stood at ₹202.71, up 1.62% from the previous close.

The Mumbai Bench's approval completes the tribunal process for the proposed consolidation of the 10 subsidiaries. The NCLT Ahmedabad Bench had earlier approved the merger of the other nine subsidiaries on 4 August 2026. These include Adani Power Dahej Ltd, Kutchh Power Generation Ltd, Resurgent Fuel Management Ltd and Mahan Fuel Management Ltd.

The other entities are Orissa Thermal Energy Ltd, Korba Power Ltd., Anuppur Thermal Energy (MP) Pvt. Ltd., Mirzapur Thermal Energy (UP) Pvt. Ltd. and Emberiza Infra Park Ltd.

Adani Power had initially filed the scheme with the NCLT Ahmedabad Bench for the merger of the first nine subsidiaries. The company approached the Mumbai Bench separately for the merger of VIPL.

The appointed date for the scheme is 1 April 2025. However, the merger will become effective only after all the conditions and procedural requirements specified in the approved scheme are completed.

Adani Power said it will notify the stock exchanges once the scheme becomes effective. The company had first informed the exchanges about the proposed amalgamation scheme on 30 October 2025.
