The Indian stock markets are expected to start on a weak note on 23 April 2026, following a sharp decline in the previous session. The Sensex fell by 0.95%, and the Nifty 50 dropped by 0.81%. GIFT Nifty is down by 157 points, indicating a negative start.

Asian markets traded mixed. Stocks in Japan and South Korea hit record highs before paring gains. Japan’s Nikkei slipped 0.22%, while South Korea’s Kospi advanced 1.52%. China’s CSI 300 rose 0.24%, whereas Hong Kong’s Hang Seng fell 0.52%.

Key Stocks To Watch

Here are the key stocks to watch:

SBI Life Insurance: The company reported its net profit at ₹805 crore, marking a decline of 1% in the latest quarter.

Tata Communications: The company’s net profit declined by 74.7% YoY to ₹263.25 crore in the January-March quarter.

L&T Technology Services: The company reported a net profit of ₹332 crore in Q4FY26 and the revenue from operations stood at ₹2,857.9 crore.

Hindustan Copper: State-owned Hindustan Copper (HCL) has planned a capital outlay of ₹7,188.90 crore over the next five years to scale up its mining operations.

Bharat Electronics: The company has won a defence contract worth ₹569 crore at the beginning of FY27.

Trent: The company registered a rise in its net profit by 26% YoY in the latest quarterly report.

Q4 Results Expected On 23 April
