Market Midday, 18 June 2026: Benchmarks Trade Flat

The Sensex and Nifty appeared to be trading range-bound during mid-session, with both benchmarks trading almost flat, albeit with some decline. At around 12:21 pm:

• The Sensex was down 0.033%

• The Nifty 50 was down 0.026%

Broader Markets Positive

Broader market indices, however, were in the positive territory. At 12:22 pm, the Nifty Midcap 100 index was trading 0.18% higher. The Nifty Smallcap 100 index was up 0.39% during the same time.

Sectoral trends were mixed during the session. The Nifty IT, Nifty Metal and Nifty Consumer Durables indices witnessed a decline. Outperformance was noted in the Nifty PSU Bank.

Top Stocks On Nifty 50

At 12:25 pm, the top five stocks on the Nifty 50 index were:

• Max Health Institute Ltd.

• Trent Ltd.

• Bharat Electronics Ltd.

• Eicher Motors Ltd.

• HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.

Stock-Specific Action

• Bosch Home Comfort Ltd. shares jumped 4% in early trade after its offer-for-sale opened for non-retail investors.

• HFCL shares jumped 5% in early trade after the company bagged a contract from Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd worth ₹2,666.09 crore.

• Paras Defence and Space Technologies shares rose 5% in early trade on Thursday, with the stock rallying 24% in two trading sessions. Aequs shares also gained over 5% in early trade.

• Vedanta Power shares dropped over 3% on Thursday in early trade. In the process, it fell below its listing price.

Afternoon Trade Outlook

Market sentiment remained cautious after the US Federal Reserve kept interest rates unchanged. The market is expected to remain range-bound through the afternoon, with stock-specific action and sector rotation likely to drive trading activity.
