Post-Market, 14 May 2026: Sensex Zooms Past 75,350; Nifty Gains 1.18%

Benchmark indices ended Thursday’s session on a strong note, supported by gains in pharma, healthcare and metal stocks. At the closing bell:

• The Sensex gained 1.06% to close at 75,398.72

• The Nifty 50 gained 1.18% to close at 23,689.60

Sector-wise, the Nifty Pharma, the Nifty Healthcare and the Nifty Metal also ended in green, while the Nifty IT witnessed a decline.

Companies Declaring Q4 FY26 Results

Several companies announced their Q4 FY 26 results today, including

• HAL: Net profit went up 5.5% to ₹4,196 crore versus ₹3,977 crore year-on-year (YoY); Revenue was up 1.8% to ₹13,942 crore versus ₹13,700 crore YoY.

• Nilkamal: Net profit rose 21.7% to ₹41.5 crore versus ₹34.1 crore YoY; Revenue rose 8% to ₹965 crore versus ₹894 crore YoY.

• Patel Engineering: Net profit rose 14.1% to ₹43.6 crore versus ₹38.2 crore YoY; Revenue was down 11.8% to ₹1,422 crore versus ₹1,612 crore YoY.

• Clean Science: Net profit was down 21.3% at ₹58.3 crore versus ₹74.1 crore YoY; Revenue was down 5.5% at ₹249 crore versus ₹264 crore YoY.

• IRFC: Net profit was up 0.1% at ₹1,684 crore versus ₹1,682 crore YoY; Total income was up 9% at ₹7,329 crore versus ₹6,742 crore YoY.

• The consideration of a proposal by the Indian government to reduce taxes on the country's bonds paid by foreign investors.

Gold And Silver Watch

Gold and silver prices continued to witness volatility. At 4:06 pm, Gold June futures stood at ₹1,62,168 per 10 grams, while Silver July futures stood at ₹2,96,350 per kg. While the recent hike in the import duty of gold and silver has boosted demand, experts sounded caution regarding exposing one’s portfolio too much to them.
Though markets ended in green today, industry watchers believe that how it shapes up tomorrow and in the coming days will depend much on the outcome of the meeting between the US and Chinese presidents. Equally important will be the prevailing situation in the Middle East and the developments surrounding the Strait of Hormuz.
