Nifty 100 Today: Reliance, HUL, Tata Consumer Lead Market Recovery

Indian equities recovered on Wednesday after the previous session’s decline. Reliance Industries, Hindustan Unilever, Tata Consumer Products, Hyundai Motor India and Muthoot Finance were among the notable Nifty 100 gainers, while FMCG stocks drew broad buying interest.
Indian stocks staged a recovery on Wednesday, with buying visible across several large-cap names. The Nifty 100 was up 0.53% at 24,321 points at 12:34 pm IST on 16 September 2026, with 68 constituents advancing against 32 stocks in decline.
Muthoot Finance, Godrej Consumer Products, Axis Bank and Punjab National Bank were among the other notable gainers. On the other side, Solar Industries, Tata Capital and Tata Consultancy Services were among the laggards.

FMCG Stocks Drive Wednesday’s Recovery
FMCG stocks were among the stronger pockets of the market. The Nifty FMCG index rose 1.94% to 45,700.30 points, supporting gains in Hindustan Unilever, Nestle India and Tata Consumer Products.
Nestle India also saw sentiment supported by expectations of a 20% year-on-year increase in sales during Q2FY27.
Tata Consumer’s move came after its shares had fallen 10.79% over one month, while Wednesday’s buying coincided with the broader FMCG sector advance.
Reliance And Hyundai In Focus
Reliance Industries gained after facing selling pressure over the previous five trading sessions. The stock’s movement also comes as crude oil prices rally, while the company’s investor meeting scheduled for this week is drawing market attention.
Hyundai Motor India traded higher after reporting a 23.6% year-on-year increase in domestic sales for August. During Wednesday’s session, the stock moved between an intraday high of ₹2,182 and a low of ₹2,135.40.
Muthoot Finance also advanced, trading between an intraday low of ₹2,725.20 and an intraday high of ₹2,793.90 during the session.
