Sensex, Nifty 50 gain as US-Iran peace hopes weigh on crude oil prices.

Sensex and Nifty 50 advanced in afternoon trade, supported by lower crude oil prices. Investors focused on corporate earnings. Mixed broader markets kept stock-specific activity in the spotlight.

The Sensex and the Nifty 50 traded higher in afternoon trade as crude oil prices tumbled amid hopes of a peace deal between the US and Iran. At 11:42 am, the Sensex was up 0.31%, while the Nifty 50 was up 0.086% at the same time.

In the broader markets, signals appeared to be mixed. At 11:47 am, the Nifty Midcap 100 was down 0.02%, while the Nifty Smallcap 100 was up 0.67% at the same time. Sector-wise, the Nifty IT and Nifty Pharma were performing well, while Nifty Realty and Nifty Auto seemed to be under pressure.

Stocks of the following firms were the top five performers on the Nifty 50 index at around 11:47 am:

  • Reliance Industries Ltd.

  • Eternal Ltd.

  • Bharat Electronics Ltd.

  • Shriram Finance Ltd.

  • Titan Company Ltd.

  • Neuland Laboratories shares rose over 6% in early trade after the company reported a jump in its June quarter earnings.

  • Navin Fluorine International shares rose 7.7% in early trade after the company reported a strong performance for Q1 FY27.

  • PB Fintech shares gained 2% in early trade after the company reported a 92% year-on-year (YoY) surge in its net profit for Q1 FY27.

Several companies are likely to declare their Q1 FY27 results today, including:

  • Aegis Logistics

  • Apollo Tyres

  • Bajaj Electricals

  • Blue Star

  • Britannia Industries

  • Crompton Greaves

  • Fortis Healthcare

For the rest of the session, investors are likely to track crude oil price movements and any fresh developments around US-Iran peace negotiations for directional cues. Stock-specific action is also expected to remain in focus.
