Benchmarks continued to trade in the red in the afternoon trade as elevated oil prices dampened investors' sentiments. Escalating tension in West Asia kept markets on edge. At 11:41 am, the Sensex was down 0.24%. The Nifty 50 was down 0.22% during the same time. Even broader markets were trading in the negative. At 11:43 am, the:

  • Nifty Midcap 100 index was down by 0.47%.

  • Nifty Smallcap 100 index was down by 0.25%.

Stocks of the following firms were the top five performers on the Nifty 50 index at around 11:43 am:

  • Eternal Ltd.

  • Bajaj Auto Ltd.

  • Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.

  • Eicher Motors Ltd.

  • Bajaj Finserv Ltd.

  • Eternal shares jumped 3% in early trade after the company reported a consolidated profit of ₹87 crore for Q1 FY27.

  • IndusInd Bank shares dropped over 5% in early trade despite the bank reporting a 72% year-on-year (YoY) surge in net profit for Q1 FY27.

  • Oracle Financial Services Software shares gained 5% in intraday deals after the company reported a 121% year-on-year (YoY) rise in its consolidated net income.

  • Dr Reddy's Laboratories shares tumbled 9% in early trade after the company reported weak Q1 FY27 numbers.

As many as 43 companies are set to turn an ex-record date for dividends tomorrow, i.e., Friday (24 July). It means today is the last day for investors to buy their shares if they wish to receive dividends. Some prominent ones are as follows:

In the primary markets, three mainboard initial public offerings (IPOs) will open for subscription today. These are:

  • Xtranet Technologies

  • Indo-MIM

  • Lohia Corp

On the other hand, today is the second day of subscription for Cube Highways Trust InvIT and Shree Balaji Mala IPOs. Also, Metalic Technoforge will enter its final subscription day today.

The following companies are likely to declare their Q1 FY27 results today, including:

  • Allied Blenders and Distillers

  • Infosys

  • Meesho

  • Fractal Analytics

  • Go Digit General Insurance

  • Cipla

  • Cyient

  • InterGlobe Aviation

Markets are likely to remain volatile through the remainder of the trading session as investors monitor developments in West Asia and crude oil prices. Stock-specific moves driven by quarterly earnings, along with the upcoming results of major companies, are expected to keep trading activity active into the closing hours.
