In the broader markets, the Nifty Midcap 100 declined 0.21%. The Nifty Smallcap 100 also ended the day 0.51% lower. Sector-wise, the Nifty Financial Services, Nifty Chemicals and Nifty Private Bank declined. On the other hand, the Nifty IT outperformed (see table).

Gold and silver traded mixed on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) amid elevated geopolitical turmoil. At 15:34, MCX gold prices for October futures stood at ₹1,54,310 per 10 grams, up 0.03%. MCX silver prices for September futures during the same time stood at ₹2,29,698 per kg, down 1.17%.

Crude Oil Prices Today
Crude oil prices inched close to $92 per barrel in early trading with tensions flaring in the Middle East. At around 15:37, Brent crude oil October futures stood at $91.94 per barrel. At the same time, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil October futures stood at $85.04 per barrel.
