Jio Platforms Targets Navratri-Diwali Window For Mega IPO Of Nearly ₹37,800 crore
io Platforms plans a ₹37,800 crore IPO during the Navratri-Diwali period.

Jio Platforms is likely to launch its estimated $4 billion IPO around the Navratri-Diwali period, potentially by late October or early November 2026. The company is expected to finalise the exact dates within the next couple of weeks.

Jio Platforms Limited, the telecom, digital and technology arm of Reliance Industries Limited, could launch its estimated $4 billion initial public offering (IPO) by the end of October or early November 2026.

The issue could raise around ₹37,800 crore, potentially making it the largest public issue in India. The company is considering the auspicious days around Navratri for the launch. If the timeline shifts, the offering could move towards Diwali.

Jio Platforms received approval from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on 28 August 2026 after filing its draft IPO papers in June.

The proposed Jio IPO will comprise up to 27 crore fresh equity shares, equivalent to around 2.9% of its post-IPO equity capital. There is no offer-for-sale component.

The company plans to use part of the proceeds to prepay up to ₹27,500 crore of loans at Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL), its operating subsidiary. The remaining funds will be available for general corporate purposes.

The exact launch date is expected to be finalised within the next couple of weeks. Jio Platforms then plans to conduct around three weeks of international roadshows followed by two weeks of domestic investor meetings.

Navratri begins on 11 October 2026 and ends with Dussehra on 20 October. If the IPO is pushed beyond that period, Jio could instead target Diwali on 8 November.

The timing would give investors a clearer indication of when the Jio IPO date could fall, although the company has not yet fixed a final date.

The Jio Platforms IPO could overtake the proposed ₹31,000 crore National Stock Exchange (NSE) offering, potentially making it the largest IPO in India. It could also surpass Hyundai Motor India’s ₹27,000 crore IPO in 2024, which remains the country’s largest completed public issue.

The offering could mark the first IPO from the Reliance Industries group in nearly two decades, following the listing of Reliance Petroleum in 2006.

Jio Platforms also has a substantial institutional investor base. Existing investors collectively hold nearly 30.9% of the company, including Meta Platforms affiliate Jaadhu Holdings with 9.98% and Google International with 7.73%.

Other investors include Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, Silver Lake and Vista Equity affiliates, General Atlantic, KKR-backed entities and investment vehicles linked to the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority.
