Arcil Sets 9 September As IPO Launch Date With OFS Of 5.27-Crore Shares

Arcil will open its IPO on 9 September with an offer for sale of 5.27 crore shares, with no fresh issue component. The issue will make Arcil the first asset reconstruction company to list on Indian stock exchanges.
Asset Reconstruction Company (India), better known as Arcil, is set to open its initial public offering (IPO) on 9 September 2026. The issue will mark the first listing of an asset reconstruction company on the Indian stock exchanges.
The public offer will comprise only an offer for sale (OFS) of 5.27 crore equity shares. There will be no fresh issue, which means Arcil itself will not receive any money raised through the IPO.
Avenue India Resurgence, the investment vehicle owned by New York-based Avenue Capital Group, and State Bank of India are among the selling shareholders. Lathe Investment and Federal Bank will also sell shares in the offer.
Avenue India Resurgence and SBI currently own 69.73% and 19.95% of Arcil, respectively. Among the other shareholders, GIC-backed Lathe Investment holds 5%, while Karnataka Bank owns 2.64%.
South Indian Bank and Federal Bank each have a 1.27% stake in the company.
IPO Size Reduced From Original Plan
The size of the OFS has been reduced substantially from the original proposal. Arcil had planned to sell 10.54 crore shares when it filed its draft red herring prospectus in August 2025. The IPO received approval from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) in October last year.
The anchor book for institutional investors will open for one day on 8 September. The public issue will remain open until 11 September.
Arcil is expected to finalise the share allotment by 15 September, with trading likely to begin on 17 September.
QIBs Get Half Of The Issue
Half of the Arcil IPO has been reserved for qualified institutional buyers. Retail investors have a 35% reservation, while the remaining 15% has been set aside for non-institutional investors.
The company operates through 13 offices spread across 12 states. Its business involves acquiring stressed assets from banks and other financial institutions and implementing restructuring and recovery strategies to unlock value from those assets.
Arcil was incorporated in 2002 and was the first asset reconstruction company established in India. It received registration from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to commence operations in August 2003. As of FY25, the company’s assets under management (AUM) stood at ₹16,852.6 crore.
Profit Rises 6.7% In FY26
Arcil's financial performance improved in the financial year ended March 2026. The company reported a profit of ₹351.7 crore, up 6.7% from ₹329.5 crore in FY25.
Revenue increased by 24% to ₹721.7 crore during the year, compared with ₹581.8 crore a year earlier.
IIFL Capital Services, IDBI Capital Markets & Securities and JM Financial are acting as merchant bankers for the IPO.
