Adani Ports To Acquire Europe's Evos For $2.88 Billion, Expanding Its Global Liquid Storage Business
Adani Ports agrees to acquire Evos for $2.88 billion, adding eight liquid storage terminals across five European countries.

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) is going to acquire Netherlands-based Evos B.V. for $2.88 billion and enter the independent liquid storage market in Europe. The deal includes eight terminals in five countries and provides a new source of revenue and exposure to European energy infrastructure. The transaction will be financed with debt.

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) is acquiring a European energy infrastructure business in a transaction that will take its operations into some of the world's busiest energy trading markets. The company has agreed to purchase Evos B.V. from Igneo Infrastructure Partners, giving it an established presence in Europe's liquid storage industry.

The acquisition is significant because it extends APSEZ's business beyond port operations and cargo handling into the storage of liquid fuels and other energy products. It also gives the company access to European customers and industrial supply chains without having to establish an operating network from the ground up.

The proposed transaction will be an all-cash acquisition financed through debt. Completion remains subject to regulatory clearances, other approvals and works council consultation.

Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone share price stood at ₹1,884.60 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on 5 November 2026, down ₹25.40 or 1.33% from the previous close.

The acquisition values Evos at the following financial parameters:

EBITDA refers to earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation. EV/EBITDA is the enterprise value-to-EBITDA multiple used to assess the acquisition valuation.

Evos operates eight terminals with a combined storage capacity of 6.3 million cubic metres across the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Belgium and Malta.

Its infrastructure includes facilities in the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) trading region and Hamburg, connecting the business to major European energy and industrial centres.

For APSEZ, the acquisition also brings contractual revenue arrangements that include take-or-pay agreements and Consumer Price Index (CPI)-linked pricing. These provide greater revenue visibility and exposure to foreign currency earnings.

Managing Director Karan Adani said the acquisition would contribute to APSEZ's ambition of handling one billion tonnes of cargo and developing an integrated global transport platform.

He also highlighted the opportunity to participate in Europe's transition towards sustainable energy.

The integration of Evos will now be an important part of APSEZ's overseas expansion. The company's ability to maintain Evos's operating performance while managing the debt-funded acquisition will be central to the financial outcome of the deal.
