Wipro Shares Jump 2% As Google Cloud Tie-Up Deepens On Agentic AI

Wipro shares rose 2% after expanding its Google Cloud partnership to scale Gemini Enterprise and agentic AI, launching the LIFT framework and training over 10,000 AI-certified specialists.
The stock has had a rough 2026, falling 35% so far. Friday brought a small reversal. Wipro shares rose 2.87% on 28 August 2026, touching an intraday high of ₹181. The gain followed news that Wipro is deepening its partnership with Google Cloud to push agentic AI into enterprise workflows. Even with the positive share movement, Wipro shares remain well below its 52-week high of ₹273.
The centrepiece of the expanded deal is a framework Wipro is calling LIFT, short for Launch-Ignite-Flywheel-Transform. The idea is to help companies move past AI pilots and actually run agentic AI at scale.
LIFT pairs Google's Gemini Enterprise with Wipro's own platforms, WINGS and WEGA, so clients can use AI across full business processes rather than just automating one task at a time.
Thousands Of Employees Getting AI Training
Wipro plans to equip over 10,000 AI-certified specialists internally with advanced AI tools to boost productivity and decision-making. A more specialised group, over 1,500 Forward Deployed Engineers, will pair Google Cloud's AI expertise with Wipro's own consulting and engineering skills to carry AI projects from pilot stage through to full enterprise rollout.
Wipro's Kanwar Singh called AI foundational to the company's future. Google Cloud's Kevin Ichhpurani said the tie-up is about helping enterprises turn AI spending into actual business results.
Gemini Is Already Running Wipro's Own Operations
Before this expansion, Wipro had already put Gemini Enterprise to work internally as its main AI orchestration engine, part of its "Operate Better with AI" strategy.
It says this has helped build AI agents handling compliance, HR and sales work. Separately, the company has added an AI coding tool called Antigravity CLI to help its developers code, test and modernise software faster, with fewer bugs slipping through.
The deeper push into AI comes as Wipro looks to strengthen its broader business performance. In the June quarter, the company reported a 1% year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit to
₹3,352 crore, while revenue grew 11% to ₹24,479 crore. The expanded Google Cloud partnership could give Wipro another avenue to translate its AI capabilities into higher-value enterprise work and support future growth.
