Welspun Corp Shares Jump 9% In Early
Welspun Corp shares jumped 9% in early trade after the company won its largest-ever US pipe order.

Welspun Corp secured its largest-ever $1.8-billion US pipe order, taking its global order book to $4.4 billion. Its shares rallied 9% in early trade after the announcement on Friday.

Welspun Corp Ltd has secured its largest-ever single order worth about $1.8 billion (₹17,200 crore) for the supply of pipes from its US manufacturing facility.

The company said in a regulatory filing late Thursday that it will execute the order during FY28 and FY29. The contract will take Welspun Corp’s global order book to a record $4.4 billion, or about ₹42,100 crore.

Welspun Corp shares rose as much as 9% in early trade to ₹2,193 apiece on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) during Friday’s trade after the order announcement. At 10:51 am, Welspun Corp share prices were up over 14% on the BSE. The company did not disclose the customer, order volume or type of pipes covered by the contract.

The contract is the biggest single order in Welspun Corp’s history. The company said it strengthens its position in the North American energy infrastructure market. Welspun Corp said the order will give it multi-year revenue visibility and reflects the scale and execution capabilities of its US operations.

The US is the company’s largest market outside India. It contributed 27.2% of Welspun Corp’s revenue in FY26, according to Bloomberg data. India accounted for 71.7% of revenue, while other overseas markets contributed 1.1%. The latest contract comes as Welspun Corp continues to expand its US operations amid demand for energy infrastructure.

Welspun Corp said in its fourth-quarter earnings statement that its US spiral mill is booked through FY28. The company attributed the order visibility to rising demand for liquefied natural gas (LNG), higher power requirements from artificial intelligence data centres and a revival in oil pipeline infrastructure.

The latest order adds to Welspun Corp’s efforts to expand its manufacturing footprint outside India and build stronger relationships with global energy customers. The company said the contract positions it for sustained growth in the North American energy infrastructure market.
