General Atlantic sells 8.75% stake in KFin Technologies for ₹1,400 crore at ₹925 per share.

General Atlantic sold an 8.75% stake in KFin Technologies for ₹1,400 crore at ₹925 per share on 20 August. Invesco, Mirae Asset, Kotak and other institutional investors participated in the block deal.

Private equity firm General Atlantic has reduced its stake in KFin Technologies by 8.75% through a block deal on Thursday, 20 August 2026 worth nearly ₹1,400 crore.

General Atlantic Singapore Fund Pte Ltd, an arm of New York-based General Atlantic, sold more than 1.51 crore shares of KFin Technologies at an average price of ₹925 per share, according to block deal data on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).

Following the sale, General Atlantic’s stake in KFin Technologies fell to 13.14% from 21.89%. The latest transaction adds to a series of stake sales by the private equity firm in the company over the past few years.

KFin Technologies shares ended 1.37% higher at ₹961 apiece on the NSE on Thursday. At 12:00 PM on Friday, the shares had gained more than 2.24%, trading at ₹982.50 apiece.

Several domestic mutual funds were among the buyers in the block deal. These included Invesco Mutual Fund, Kotak Mahindra Mutual Fund, Edelweiss Mutual Fund, Mirae Asset Mutual Fund, Bandhan Mutual Fund, Motilal Oswal Mutual Fund and HSBC Mutual Fund.

Insurance companies also participated in the transaction. ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company and ICICI Prudential Life Insurance were among the buyers.

Global investors, including Morgan Stanley, Citigroup Global Markets Singapore and Societe Generale, also purchased shares.

General Atlantic has been gradually reducing its holding in KFin Technologies. In May 2025, the private equity firm sold a 10% stake in the company for ₹1,790 crore. Before that, it had sold a 5.8% stake in May 2024 for ₹712 crore.

KFin Technologies made its stock market debut in December 2022. The company had raised ₹1,500 crore through its initial public offering (IPO), which was entirely an offer for sale by General Atlantic Singapore.
