Thomas Cook Q1 FY27 Results: Profit Rises As Travel Business Supports Earnings

Thomas Cook (India) reported higher standalone Q1 FY27 profit as revenue grew and costs remained under control. The travel business stayed the primary growth driver.

Thomas Cook reported a rise in standalone net profit for the quarter ended 30 June 2026. The June quarter earnings were supported by steady growth in its travel and related services business. Revenue from operations increased to ₹8,275.7 million, compared with ₹8,175.1 million in the corresponding quarter last year.

Total income stood at ₹8,825.3 million, marginally higher than ₹8,792.9 million a year earlier. Profit before tax rose to ₹784.4 million, up from ₹745.0 million in the year-ago period. Net profit increased to ₹587.2 million, compared with ₹555.4 million in the first quarter of FY26.

The company reported earnings per share (EPS) of ₹1.26, against ₹1.19 in the corresponding quarter last year. Total comprehensive income also improved to ₹576.5 million, from ₹549.0 million a year earlier.

Total expenses during the quarter were ₹8,038.9 million, compared with ₹8,047.9 million in the year-ago period.

Cost of services increased to ₹6,581.3 million from ₹6,401.0 million. However, employee benefits expense declined to ₹782.8 million, compared with ₹897.3 million last year. Advertisement and sales promotion expenses also reduced to ₹114.3 million, from ₹149.3 million.

Finance costs eased to ₹94.4 million, while depreciation and amortisation expense rose slightly to ₹84.8 million. Other expenses fell to ₹381.3 million, against ₹419.9 million in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.

Travel and related services remained the largest contributor to revenue. These services generated around ₹7,509.2 million during the quarter. The financial services segment contributed ₹747.7 million, while the leisure hospitality and resorts business generated ₹18.8 million.

Segment profit before taxation and interest from the travel and related services business stood at ₹479.2 million. The financial services segment reported ₹353.0 million and the hospitality business recorded a loss of ₹4.0 million.

Thomas Cook (India) shares closed at ₹107.15 on 3 August 2026, up 2.76% (₹2.88) from the previous close of ₹104.27.
