Sun TV Q1 FY27 Results: PAT Rises 17% To ₹619 Crore, and Revenue Up By 13%

Sun TV Q1 FY27 Results: Consolidated revenue increased 13% to ₹1,457.9 crore. Net profit rose nearly 17% to ₹619.1 crore. The company also declared a first interim dividend of ₹5 per share.

Sun TV Network reported higher revenue and profit for the quarter ended 30 June 2026. This performance was helped by growth across its media business and higher income from its cricket franchises. The company also announced its first interim dividend of ₹5 per equity share for FY27.

On a consolidated basis, revenue from operations rose 13% year-on-year to ₹1,457.88 crore from ₹1,290.28 crore. Total income increased to ₹1,634.40 crore during the quarter, and profit before tax rose to ₹817.56 crore from ₹694.45 crore a year earlier.

Profit after tax increased nearly 17% to ₹619.07 crore from ₹528.79 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, while earnings per share improved to ₹15.71 from ₹13.43.

On a standalone basis, revenue from operations grew 13% year-on-year to ₹1,423.39 crore. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) increased 19% to ₹732.99 crore from ₹617.23 crore, reflecting improved operating performance during the quarter.

Advertisement revenue stood at ₹282.51 crore, broadly stable compared with ₹289.94 crore in the year-ago period. Domestic subscription revenue rose around 3% year-on-year to ₹485.46 crore.

A major contributor to the quarter's performance was the company's cricket franchise business. Income from its cricket teams, including Sunrisers Hyderabad, Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Sunrisers Leeds, increased to ₹629.83 crore from ₹473.03 crore in the same quarter last year.

Sun TV continues to operate television channels across Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Bangla, Marathi and Hindi languages. The group also has interests in FM radio, movie production and its OTT platform, SunNXT.

At the close of the trading day on 12 August, Sun TV’s share price was ₹478.2 on the National Stock Exchange, down by 1.14%.
