Capri Global Capital Share Price Rises 6%
Capri Global Capital shares climbed as much as 6% to ₹272 on Thursday, hitting a fresh 52-week high. The stock was trading at ₹270.90, up 5.57%, around 1:02 pm.
The rally followed the NBFC’s announcement that it had completed its first-ever US dollar bond issuance, raising $300 million through senior secured notes maturing in 2029. The bonds carry a coupon of 7.55% per annum.
The issue was oversubscribed more than 2.3 times, with the order book exceeding $700 million across 64 accounts. The transaction was managed by Barclays, Citi, Deutsche Bank, Emirates NBD and UBS.
The company said global real-money investors received one of the highest allocations in the issue. The US accounted for 49% of the allocation, followed by Asia at 39% and EMEA at 12%. Asset managers and fund managers accounted for 91% of the allocation, while insurance companies received 5% and banks, private banks and others accounted for the remaining 4%.
Moody’s Ratings assigned a ‘Ba3 long-term foreign currency senior secured’ rating to the notes issued under Capri Global’s $1 billion Global Medium Term Note Programme.
The fundraise will also diversify Capri Global’s funding sources by giving it access to international debt markets. The company said the strong demand from international investors reflected confidence in its credit strength and business model.
Capri Global had reported a more than two-fold increase in consolidated profit to ₹353 crore for Q1 FY27, compared with ₹175 crore in the year-ago period.
Total income rose to ₹1,581 crore from ₹1,005 crore, while interest income increased to ₹1,323 crore from ₹806 crore. Net interest income also rose to ₹736 crore from ₹412 crore.
The NBFC’s assets under management increased 62% year-on-year to ₹40,112 crore during the quarter, supported by growth in retail lending, particularly gold loans and MSME loans.
The latest bond issue comes as the company continues to expand its lending business and diversify its funding base.
Smallcap Stocks In Focus
The sharp moves in the smallcap stocks came with different company-specific developments. While some stocks hit their upper circuit limits, Capri Global’s move was driven by the successful completion of its maiden dollar bond issue.
Investors will now track whether the gains in these counters sustain beyond Thursday’s sharp moves, particularly given the high volatility often seen in smaller stocks.
