Indian equity benchmarks ended lower on Monday, snapping a two-session winning streak as investors turned cautious amid concerns over a weak monsoon, rising crude oil prices and lingering global geopolitical uncertainties. The Sensex declined 372.10 points, or 0.48%, to close at 76,728.37, while the Nifty 50 fell 109.75 points, or 0.46%, to settle at 23,946.25.
Stocks In Focus
HDFC Bank
HDFC Bank is set to appoint outgoing Axis Bank Chief Financial Officer Puneet Sharma as its next CFO. Separately, the bank has named former Chief Election Commissioner and former Finance Secretary Rajiv Kumar as its part-time Chairman.
Bandhan Bank
The lender said Chief Financial Officer and Key Managerial Personnel Rajeev Mantri has resigned. The bank received his resignation on 29 June 2026.
Sterling & Wilson Renewable Energy
The company's 50:50 joint venture with Hassan Allam Construction has secured a Letter of Award (LoA) valued at approximately $560 million for the West Minya Solar Project in Egypt.
Yes Bank
The board has approved plans to raise ₹7,500 crore through the issue of eligible securities and up to ₹8,500 crore through debt instruments. However, it is subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals.
Jagsonpal Pharmaceuticals
The pharmaceutical company has entered into a Share Purchase Agreement (SPA) to acquire an 85% stake in Aequitas Healthcare Pvt. Ltd.
RITES
The company has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) to jointly provide project management consultancy services for logistics infrastructure projects.
Juniper Hotels
The company announced that Chief Financial Officer Tarun Jaitly will step down from his role with effect from 15 July 2026 following his resignation.
SJVN
The state-run company has signed Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. (GUVNL) for the supply of green electricity from three hydroelectric projects in Himachal Pradesh. The projects—Dhaulasidh (66 MW), Luhri Stage-I (210 MW) and Sunni Dam (382 MW)—will have a combined installed capacity of 658 MW.
