Reliance Industries, Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, IDBI Bank, Power Grid and more are among the key stocks to watch on 20 July.
Indian equity markets ended the week on a strong note, with the Sensex rising 964.59 points (1.25%) to 78,151.45. The Nifty 50 gained 261.55 points (1.09%) to close at 24,334.30. Despite weak global cues and elevated crude oil prices, strong domestic sentiment helped benchmark indices post solid weekly gains.
Key Stocks In Focus
Reliance Industries Ltd. (RIL)
Reliance Industries kicked off FY27 with strong June-quarter results. Consolidated revenue rose to ₹3.09 lakh crore, increasing 26.6% year-on-year and 5.1% quarter-on-quarter, supported by solid contributions from its oil-to-chemicals, oil and gas, and digital services businesses.
Axis Bank Ltd.
Axis Bank reported results broadly in line with expectations. Net profit climbed 22.5% year-on-year to ₹7,113 crore, while NII rose 8% to ₹14,646.1 crore. Asset quality softened marginally, with NIM narrowing to 3.46%. Advances and deposits expanded 18.8% and 13.9%, respectively, while provisions declined despite higher gross slippages.
Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.
Chief Executive Officer Ashok Vaswani announced his resignation after more than three years, citing personal reasons and the arrival of his first grandchild. He said the bank has successfully completed its transformation, resolved its technology-related restrictions, strengthened its leadership team and improved key retail portfolios. Kotak Mahindra Bank will submit a list of potential successors to the Reserve Bank of India in accordance with regulatory requirements.
IDBI Bank Ltd.
IDBI Bank posted steady quarterly earnings. Net profit rose 5% year-on-year to ₹2,115 crore, while NII increased 10% to ₹3,486 crore. NIM eased to 3.61%, although advances and deposits grew 22% and 10%, respectively. A provision write-back supported overall profitability.
Poonawalla Fincorp Ltd.
The non-deposit-taking finance company reported a sharp rise in profitability, with June-quarter net profit reaching ₹308 crore, compared with ₹63 crore in the corresponding period last year.
RBL Bank Ltd.
RBL Bank reported healthy June-quarter earnings, driven by stronger net interest income, improved asset quality and lower operating expenses. Net profit increased 27% year-on-year, although management highlighted near-term stress in its credit card portfolio.
RailTel Corporation of India Ltd.
RailTel disclosed that 3i Infotech Ltd has initiated arbitration proceedings against the company over matters related to the Wi-Fi Monetisation Project.
Turtlemint FinTech Ltd.
The insurtech company reported its first-ever profitable quarter during Q4 FY26, posting a net profit of ₹3.1 crore, compared with a loss of ₹39.4 crore a year earlier.
Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.
Power Grid emerged as the successful bidder under the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process for developing an interstate transmission system at the 765/400/220 kV Fatehgarh-II Power Station on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis.
