Shoppers Stop Q1 FY27 Results: Shoppers Stop saw a 6% rise in total sales to ₹1,336 crore. EBITDA jumped 68%.
Shoppers Stop Q1 FY27 results highlights steady revenue growth and a sharp improvement in operating profitability. On a non-GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) basis, sales increased 6% year-on-year to ₹1,336 crore, while gross margin improved to ₹445 crore. EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortisation) climbed 68% to ₹26 crore, lifting the EBITDA margin to 2.2% from 1.4% a year ago. The retailer also narrowed its pre-tax loss to ₹13 crore from ₹24 crore in the corresponding quarter last year and reduced its net loss to ₹7 crore from ₹15 crore.
Under GAAP reporting, revenue stood at ₹1,094 crore, up 6% year-on-year. EBITDA rose 21% to ₹176 crore, while the EBITDA margin expanded to 16.1% from 14.1%. The company also reported a lower pre-tax loss of ₹24 crore, compared with ₹31 crore a year ago, while net loss narrowed to ₹18 crore from ₹23 crore.
Shoppers Stop: Business Performance In Q1 FY27
The company's performance benefited from an improvement in spending by its customers and a stronger portfolio of premium products. Average transaction value increased 6% to ₹5,169, average selling price rose 3% to ₹1,740, and items per transaction improved to 2.97 from 2.90.
Same-store sales grew 3%. The premium portfolio's contribution increased to 67%, with like-for-like growth of 9%. Personal Shopper contribution also improved to 25% from 18% a year ago.
Among product categories, watches recorded the strongest growth at 19%, followed by beauty at 17% and apparel at 9%. Beauty sales reached ₹284 crore, while sales excluding the distribution business grew 2%.
The company's value fashion format INTUNE generated ₹68 crore in turnover after doubling sales year-on-year. It added four new INTUNE stores during the quarter, taking the chain to 75 stores across 33 cities.
How Did The Market React?
The market reaction to these results will be seen when trading resumes in the next session. However, on 22 July, Shoppers Stop's share price fell 2.76% to end the day at ₹375.70 on the National Stock Exchange.
