Petronet LNG's June-quarter performance took a hit from the disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz region, with revenue falling sharply from the previous quarter. The company still managed to protect part of its operating profitability as higher margins cushioned the impact on earnings.
The Petronet LNG Q1 FY27 results showed consolidated net profit of ₹1,137 crore, down 17% from ₹1,371 crore in Q4 FY26. Revenue dropped 41% sequentially to ₹5,558 crore from ₹9,442 crore.

Hormuz Disruptions Weigh On Revenue
The biggest change in the quarter came at the topline level. Petronet LNG's profit and revenue took a significant hit as compared to the March 2026 quarter.
The sequential drop came as disruptions around the Strait of Hormuz affected LNG flows during the quarter. The disruption put pressure on the company's revenue even as operations continued.
Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) fell 17.5% sequentially to ₹1,535 crore from ₹1,861 crore. Even with the lower operating profit, the company recorded a much higher margin.
EBITDA Margin Expands Sharply
Petronet LNG's EBITDA margin rose to 27.6% from 19.7% in the previous quarter, an expansion of 790 basis points. The stronger margin provided some support to profitability despite the steep decline in revenue.
The Petronet LNG Q1 FY 2026-27 results therefore show a mixed picture, with the quarter's revenue taking a sizeable hit while operating margins held up better.
Petronet LNG Share Price
Petronet LNG shares ended Wednesday's session almost 1% higher at ₹279.85 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
