Operating Performance Improves
The PC Jeweller Q1 results show that the increase in EBITDA was much stronger than the rise in revenue.
Revenue grew 21% during the quarter, while EBITDA almost doubled. The margin consequently improved by nearly 10 percentage points from the year-ago period.
PC Jeweller's EBITDA climbed 90% year-on-year to ₹242 crore during the quarter, compared with ₹127 crore a year earlier. As a result, the EBITDA margin widened sharply to 27.5% from 17.6%.
The operating improvement also translated into higher profitability, with consolidated profit rising to ₹222 crore from ₹162 crore. This marked an increase of 37.2% on a YoY basis.
PC Jeweller Plans ₹1,000-Crore QIP
Alongside its Q1FY27 results, the company announced a proposed fundraise of up to ₹1,000 crore through a qualified institutional placement (QIP).
The board has approved the proposal, which will now require the necessary regulatory clearances and shareholder approval. The final issue size and other terms will be communicated after receiving the necessary approvals.
Market Reaction
PC Jeweller’s share price swung wildly during Monday’s trading session. The stock touched an intraday high of ₹10.05 per share before closing at ₹9.82 each on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
At 11:25 AM on Tuesday, PC Jeweller shares were trading for ₹10.25 apiece, after gaining over 4.38%.
