Laser Power & Infra Secures ₹72.76 Crore Powergrid Order For Conductors And Transmission Line Reconductoring

Laser Power & Infra has secured ₹72.76 crore contracts from Powergrid for conductor supply and reconductoring of two transmission lines in the North Eastern Region.
Laser Power & Infra Limited (LPIL) has secured contracts aggregating to ₹72.76 crore from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited for High Temperature Low Sag (HTLS) conductor supply and reconductoring work.
The contracts cover two existing 132 kV transmission lines under the North Eastern Region Expansion Scheme-XXIV. The project covers around 164 circuit-km of transmission corridors and is scheduled for completion within 12 months from the Notification of Award.
On 5 October 2026, the Laser Power & Infra share price closed at ₹267.75 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
About The Order
The integrated contract from Powergrid is for the supply of HTLS conductors and reconductoring services for two transmission lines. It brings together Laser Power & Infra's capabilities in engineering, manufacturing, supply, installation and commissioning.
The order marks the company's first commercial HTLS conductor order, taking its HTLS technology from product development and qualification into commercial execution.
Why Is The HTLS Order Significant For Laser Power & Infra?
Laser Power & Infra has access to an advanced conductor platform through its licensing arrangement with TS Conductor, USA. The company said the HTLS segment requires product testing, utility qualification and execution capabilities in addition to technology access.
The HTLS platform is designed to support higher power transfer through existing transmission corridors while managing thermal sag. The company also said the technology has potential benefits in conductor efficiency, transmission losses and installation.
What Does Laser Power & Infra Do?
Laser Power & Infra has more than three decades of experience in manufacturing cables, conductors and allied products, while also executing Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) projects.
The company operates across power transmission, distribution, renewable energy and infrastructure, serving utilities, EPC contractors and industrial customers in India and international markets. The new order adds commercial HTLS execution to its transmission capabilities, alongside its recent entry into underground Extra High Voltage (EHV) EPC through the CESC project.
