KEI Industries Q1 FY27 Results: KEI Industries reported a 40% year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit to ₹274 crore for the June quarter. Its revenue grew 23% to ₹3,185 crore. Strong demand for wires and cables, higher operating margins and a robust order book lifted investor sentiment, sending the stock nearly 7% higher in Tuesday's trade.

KEI Industries shares climbed 6.77% to ₹5,363.20 during Tuesday's early trading session. This was after the company reported strong earnings for the first quarter of FY27.

The company posted a consolidated net profit of ₹274 crore for Q1 FY27, up 40% from ₹196 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. The profit after tax (PAT) margin improved to 8.61% from 7.56% a year earlier.

  • Revenue from operations: ₹3,185 crore, up 23% year-on-year (YoY) from ₹2,590 crore.

  • Consolidated net profit: ₹274 crore, up 40% YoY from ₹196 crore.

  • Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortisation (EBITDA): Increased 39.57% YoY.

  • EBITDA margin: 13.04%, up from 11.49% in Q1 FY26, up around 155 basis points.

The wires and cables segment remained the biggest contributor to the company's performance during the quarter. Domestic wires and cables sales grew 29.31% YoY. Total wires and cables sales, including exports, stood at ₹3,092 crore and accounted for 97.08% of total revenue, compared with 95.96% in the year-ago period.

Dealer and distributor-led sales increased 41.98% YoY and contributed 59.09% of total sales, up from 51.18% a year ago. KEI Industries had an active dealer network of 2,128 as of 30 June 2026. The Extra High Voltage (EHV) cable business also recorded strong growth. Sales rose to ₹186 crore from ₹126 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, marking a 47.74% increase.

Export wires and cables sales fell 7.29% YoY. However, the company said it expects overseas business to improve, supported by a healthy order book and stronger demand in key international markets.

The Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) segment contributed ₹43 crore, while the Stainless Steel (SS) Wires business reported revenue of ₹53 crore. KEI Industries ended the June quarter with a pending order book of around ₹4,292 crore, providing revenue visibility for the coming quarters.

Shareholding data showed continued interest from institutional investors. Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) increased their holding to 27.32% in Q1FY27. It was 27.27% in the previous quarter. Mutual fund holdings also increased to 22.52% from 22.43%. At 1:27 PM, KEI Industries shares were trading 7.36% up on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
