Indian Bank Q2 FY27 Treasury Earnings Boosted Due To ₹1,388 Crore Gain From The Sale Of NSE Shares
Indian Bank reports ₹1,388 crore gain in Q2 FY27 from NSE divestment.

Indian Bank booked a ₹1,388 crore gain from selling NSE shares through the offer-for-sale window. This lifted its Q2 non-interest income 50% quarter-on-quarter to ₹3,953 crore.

Indian Bank has reported a gain of ₹1,388 crore from the sale of its National Stock Exchange (NSE) shares through the offer-for-sale (OFS) window during the exchange’s initial public offering (IPO). The one-time gain gave the bank a substantial boost to its treasury earnings in the second quarter.

The gain helped push non-interest income (NII), which includes earnings from treasury operations, up 50% quarter-on-quarter to ₹3,953 crore. This helped offset some of the pressure the bank faced from rising bond yields.

At 13:00 pm, on 16 October 2026, the Indian Bank share price was ₹864.70 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), an increase of 3.56%.

Indian Bank held a 0.34% stake in NSE before the share sale. Following the divestment, its holding reportedly fell to 0.28%. The sale allowed the bank to book a one-time gain linked to NSE’s public offering.

The gain came at a time when rising bond yields were putting pressure on treasury performance. Indian Bank Q2 results also reported a mark-to-market loss of ₹123 crore on instruments classified under the held-for-trading category.

The NSE-related gain helped cushion this impact. Indian Bank Managing Director Binod Kumar said that the NSE listing had also helped generate mark-to-market gains.
