Hindustan Copper Q1 FY 2026-27 Results: PAT Jumps 163% To ₹353 Crore; Revenue Rises 81%
Hindustan Copper Q1FY27 results show 163% rise in profit and 81% revenue growth

Hindustan Copper delivered a strong Q1 FY27 performance, with profit attributable to owners rising 163% year-on-year to ₹353 crore and revenue from operations increasing 81.4% to ₹936.5 crore. EBITDA more than doubled to ₹507.5 crore.

Hindustan Copper's June-quarter numbers came in sharply higher than a year ago, with the state-run copper producer reporting a substantial increase in profit and revenue. The company's profit attributable to owners rose to ₹353 crore in Q1 FY27 from ₹134 crore in the corresponding quarter of FY26.

The Hindustan Copper Q1 financial results showed revenue from operations of ₹936.5 crore, compared with ₹516.4 crore in the year-ago quarter. Revenue grew 81.4% year-on-year during the quarter.

The company also recorded a sizeable improvement in operating earnings. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) increased to ₹507.5 crore from ₹212.3 crore in Q1 FY26, while the EBITDA margin moved up to 54% from 41%.

Total expenses during the quarter came in at ₹481.83 crore. This compares with ₹347.20 crore in the same quarter last year and ₹596.55 crore in the March quarter.

The Hindustan Copper Q1 FY27 results come against a favourable backdrop for copper prices. Global prices had recorded six straight weeks of gains, helped by tight supply conditions and easing expectations of a US interest rate hike after the latest jobs data.

Copper prices crossed $14,000 a tonne last week and touched their highest intraday level since late January. Market participants expect prices to remain elevated through the coming quarter.

Earnings per share from continuing operations stood at ₹3.64 in Q1 FY27, against ₹1.39 in the year-ago period. Both basic and diluted EPS were ₹3.64 for the quarter.

Hindustan Copper also received forest clearance for its Chandmari copper mine in Rajasthan's Jhunjhunu district in June.

The Rajasthan Forest Department issued the clearance in a letter dated 19 June 2026, which the company received on 23 June. The approval will remain valid for the duration of the Chandmari mining lease, according to the company's exchange filing.

The development is significant for the company's mining operations in Rajasthan and comes alongside the strong performance reported in Hindustan Copper's Q1 FY27 results.

Hindustan Copper's share price did not mirror the company's quarterly performance in the domestic market. The stock closed 1.84% lower at ₹526.26 on the National Stock Exchange on Monday.

The decline came despite the sharp year-on-year improvement in profit, revenue and operating margins reported in Hindustan Copper's Q1 FY 2026-27 results.
