Bagchi spent six years as an executive director at ICICI Bank from 2017 to 2023. He initially looked after the bank’s retail, business and rural banking operations and later moved to the wholesale banking business.

Bagchi also took charge of ICICI Securities as its managing director and CEO. He moved to ICICI Prudential Life Insurance in June 2023 as managing director and CEO, adding the insurance business to a career that has spanned several parts of the financial services sector.
