HAL Shares Jump Nearly 6% On ₹2.55 Lakh Crore Order Book, Strong FY-27 Outlook

HAL shares jumped nearly 6% as investors cheered the company's robust Rs 2.55 lakh crore order book and a positive outlook for FY27 and beyond.
Shares of Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) rose nearly 6% on Thursday, August 6, after investors reacted positively to the company's robust order book and optimistic outlook for FY27 and beyond. The stock was trading at ₹4,914, up 5.79%, at 12:45 pm IST after touching an intraday high of around ₹4,920 during the session.
Trading activity remained strong through the day. Shares worth over ₹52 crore changed hands on the BSE, while trading turnover on the NSE crossed ₹626 crore by early afternoon.
The gains followed the release of HAL's FY26 annual report earlier this week, which showed the company ended the year with an order book of ₹2.55 lakh crore. HAL said the order pipeline provides revenue visibility for the next seven to eight years and expects execution to improve through supply-chain stabilisation, capacity expansion, infrastructure investments and higher production across key programmes.
What's Driving HAL's Growth Outlook?
HAL said it plans to increase production of the LCA Mk1A fighter aircraft to more than 24 units annually while accelerating manufacturing of the HTT-40 basic trainer aircraft. The company also intends to expand its presence in the civil aviation and export markets and raise indigenisation levels to 65-75% across its major platforms.
Alongside manufacturing expansion, HAL said it will continue investing in digital transformation, artificial intelligence and research and development for future programmes, including the IMRH, LCA Mk2, CATS, HLFT and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
In July, the company signed a long-term agreement with Safran Aircraft Engines to manufacture and supply turbine ring forgings made from superalloys for the CFM LEAP engine programme, strengthening its position in the global aerospace supply chain.
HAL FY27 Outlook
HAL expects demand to remain strong across aircraft, helicopters, aero engines, avionics and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) businesses. The company said execution of ongoing programmes, along with expected orders for fighter aircraft, rotary-wing platforms and upgrade projects, should support revenue growth over the medium to long term.
It added that these initiatives are expected to strengthen HAL's role in India's aerospace and defence ecosystem while improving its competitiveness in export markets.
HAL shares have gained nearly 20% over the past six months and around 10% so far in 2026. The stock has rallied more than 150% over the last three years and around 800% in the past five years.
