Groww Share Price Falls Over 3% As 2.1% Stake Worth ₹2,500 Crore Changes Hands In Block Deals

Groww shares fall over 3% after 12.74 crore shares worth ₹2,500 crore change hands in block deals, with buyers and sellers yet to be identified.
Shares of Billionbrains Garage Ventures, the parent company of Groww, fell more than 3% on Wednesday, August 26, after 12.74 crore shares, or around 2.1% of the company's equity, changed hands in block deals.
The shares involved in the transactions were worth around ₹2,500 crore. The identities of the buyers and sellers were not immediately known.
The block deals come a day after CNBC-TV18 reported that Ribbit Capital was looking to sell a 1.6% stake in Billionbrains Garage Ventures for around ₹1,914 crore. The shares were being offered at a floor price of ₹195 apiece, according to people familiar with the matter.
The transaction would allow Ribbit Capital to partially monetise its investment in Groww while retaining its remaining stake in the company. As part of the deal terms, Ribbit Capital would be subject to a 30-day lock-up period after the transaction, sources said.
It was not immediately clear whether the entire stake offered by Ribbit Capital was part of Wednesday's block deals.
