CCI Approves Cyient’s 100% Acquisition
CCI approves Cyient’s acquisition of 100% of TAO Digital Solutions.

CCI has approved Cyient’s proposed acquisition of 100% of TAO Digital Solutions. It is a California-based AI and digital technology company.

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has cleared Cyient Ltd’s proposed acquisition of TAO Digital Solutions, paving the way for the engineering services company to take full ownership of the US-based technology firm.

Cyient had announced the deal in May after signing a definitive agreement with TAO Digital Solutions. The transaction involves the purchase of 100% of TAO Digital Solutions’ share capital from its existing shareholders.

The latest approval removes a key regulatory hurdle for the proposed acquisition.

CCI said the transaction involves the acquisition of the entire share capital of TAO Digital Solutions by Cyient.

CCI also mentioned that the transaction was approved after examining the proposed combinations under the applicable competition regulations. Deals that cross prescribed thresholds require regulatory clearance to ensure that mergers and acquisitions do not adversely affect competition in the market.

Cyient is headquartered in Hyderabad and provides engineering and technology services across several industries.

Its business covers sectors such as aerospace and defence, automotive, rail transportation, healthcare and life sciences, semiconductors, energy, utilities, communications and spatial intelligence.

The acquisition will add TAO Digital’s technology and digital capabilities to Cyient’s existing engineering services portfolio.

California-based TAO Digital Solutions provides digital transformation and technology services to clients across global markets. In India, the company operates through its wholly owned subsidiary, TAO Digital India Pvt. Ltd.
