Finolex Cables’ electrical wires volumes increased 7%. This was supported by demand from agricultural, industrial and solar applications. In communication cables, optic fibre cable volumes were significantly higher than a year earlier.
What Supported The Quarterly Performance?
The copper rod plant was not operational because of limited availability of LPG and PNG amid the war in the Middle East.
The resulting fuel constraints also affected volumes in new product categories. Finolex Cables raised selling prices in May 2026 as copper prices remained high.
Finolex’s fibre draw facility expansion is also progressing. The new plant has a capacity of 4 million fibre kilometres, with full capacity expected to come on stream by the third quarter of the current fiscal year.
