NBCC Q1 FY 2026-27 Results: Net Profit Rises 17% To Rs 154.8 Crore, EBITDA Margin Improves

NBCC Q1 FY 2026-27 Results: NBCC reported a rise in June quarter profit and a sharp improvement in operating margin even as revenue declined, aided by stronger performance in its real estate business. The company also declared its first interim dividend for FY27, took an initial step toward setting up a REIT, and continued progress on its planned merger with subsidiary HSCC India.
NBCC Q1 FY 2026-27 Results: State-owned construction and infrastructure company NBCC (India) Ltd reported its financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, on Tuesday, August 11.
Net profit rose 17.2% year-on-year to Rs 154.8 crore, even as revenue from operations fell 6% to Rs 2,259.5 crore.
EBITDA rose 39% year-on-year to Rs 155 crore, compared with Rs 111.5 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. EBITDA margin improved to 6.86% from 4.66% a year earlier, with the company generating more operating profit from a smaller revenue base during the quarter.
Business Performance
Project Management Consultancy remained NBCC's largest business during the quarter, generating revenue of Rs 2,155.7 crore, lower than Rs 2,269.5 crore a year earlier. Revenue from the company's real estate business more than doubled to Rs 53.9 crore from Rs 22.4 crore, while its Engineering, Procurement and Construction business saw revenue decline sharply to Rs 35.9 crore from Rs 98.3 crore a year earlier. Unallocated segment revenue stood at Rs 14 crore, compared with Rs 2.3 crore in the year-ago quarter.
Corporate Update
NBCC, which operates under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, declared its first interim dividend for FY27 at Rs 0.15 per share, with August 17 fixed as the record date for determining eligible shareholders. The payout will be made within the timeline prescribed under the Companies Act.
Separately, NBCC's board gave in-principle approval to set up a wholly owned subsidiary that would act as a Special Purpose Vehicle for activities related to a proposed Real Estate Investment Trust. The proposed subsidiary will require approvals from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management.
NBCC is also moving ahead with the merger of its wholly owned subsidiary, HSCC (India) Ltd, into the company. The board had approved the merger scheme on July 14, with the company subsequently filing details of the proposed arrangement on July 18. HSCC specialises in healthcare infrastructure consultancy and project management, including preparing detailed project reports for hospitals in India and overseas, with clients that have included the World Bank and World Health Organization. The merger is aimed at bringing NBCC's healthcare and broader infrastructure consultancy operations under a single corporate structure.
NBCC Share Price
NBCC shares ended 1.41% lower at Rs 93.51 on August 11.
